Here’s what you need to know about the Utah State Parks Youth Certification courses:
- Snowmobile certification covers snowmobiles only while OHV certification covers off-highway motorcycles (OHMs), ATVs, and side-by-side ATVs.
- The course teaches responsible and ethical riding, proper machine sizing and weight distribution, proper handling and shifting, riding within your ability, and, of course, safe riding.
- The youth education courses are offered online for a nominal fee. There are no courses to attend in person in order to receive the certification. However, if you have a child that is just learning to ride, there is nothing stopping you from signing them up for additional courses that will improve their skills and knowledge.
- Once your child has passed the test, the license is valid right away. Make sure your young driver has the license while out riding, and you will want to have it with you when you pick up a rental or when you arrive for one of our guided tours as well.
Exploring Utah by snowmobile or ATV is an incredible way for a family to spend time together and create lasting memories! Carve up fresh mountain powder in the winter or ride through forested trails in the summer ─ take in the magnificent scenery all year long.
